Last Weeks of December 2009/First Week of January 2010

*The days of this past week "bounced" by along with the inhabitants of the primary building.  Where else could you fully experience the excitement of Christmas...these small children have cornered the market on enthusiasm for the season.  On Friday, we ended our day with a Christmas party.  The children were treated to sweets and drinks, while they played Jingo, the Christmas version of Bingo.  The children absolutely never tire of this age old game, and their constant giggles are always the proof.  The added bonus was that they got to eat the M&M covers.  Special thanks to our room mothers, Mrs.Hardy and Mrs. Lienhart, for putting together a fun afternoon.

During the festivities, I received a large Christmas bag.  Its contents revealed a brown furry teddy bear attired in a bright red sweater with a white snowflake on the front.  We quickly welcomed the teddy to join the bear family that lives in Room #7.  Also in the bag was a gift certificate to Coldwater Creek.  I can already hear the calls of the post Christmas sales.  I'll be there with certificate in hand.  Thank you all so much for your generosity.  Know that I appreciate your gift, you, and your children.

My children and I would like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas.  May it be filled with loving family and friends.

*In a wink of an eye, it will be time to take down the tree and pack away the lights.  After two weeks of sleeping in, the clock radio alarm will remind us that school is back in session on Monday, January 4. We will continue to work on the double digit addition and soon to follow, the double digit subtraction. After some review and practice, the children will begin the cursive letters in handwriting.  Barring snow days, we will move into the winter school routine.

Hang the blue shirts on the door knob so you don't forget that January 5 is the first Tuesday of the month.  It will be time to wear the T.I.G.E.R. pride blue spirit t-shirt.

We would also like to wish you all a very blessed and Happy New Year.  May the months ahead bring you health, happiness, and the best of luck.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we will too.

Sincerely,

K.B.and Kids
