Hello,
We will continue working on subtraction with larger numbers this week. This
week we will be working with 4 digit numbers. Again they will be expected to
use a check problem to make sure they subtracted correctly. Knowing their
subtraction facts is so important! When they are working on subtraction
problems at home and in class, they will be required to do a check problem.
Time test: Thursday, November 12
Many students still need to be practicing their facts. It is very important
that they have them memorized.
They should be studying every night!!!
We started our new chapter this week. We talked about present tense
verbs--singular and plural. We started writing poems today. They
will finish up next week and then print them out in computer class. They
will get to add graphics to their work so they will look really nice.
Science: We are continuing to learn about different ways animals eat, along
with some new vocabulary. We will be talking this week about food chains and
how they work.
Homework will start to come home regularly now that we have started into the
subject matter. Watch their planner, everything should be written in the
boxes. Please check each subject and make sure you see the finished product.
Now that the weather is starting to get cooler, please make sure your child
has the appropriate outerwear. Ten o'clock recess can be chilly this time of
year.
