Week of November 16, 2009
First grade used a piece of clip art as a starting point to help them write sentences. The picture showed two women baking cookies and pretzels. I asked the students to write about the people in the kitchen; about what they were doing; and what the kitchen might smell like. Next week the students will write about the first Thanksgiving.
Second grade will take Accelerated Reader tests. Then they will finish fact family house in Publisher. The students will learn how to use the drawing toolbar to make a rectangle and triangle. These shapes will be put together to make a house. The three numbers that make up the fact family will be placed on a text box in the triangle. The fact family will be written on a text box in the rectangle shape. The students ill finish this next week and then print out the houses.
The third grade will work on acrostic poems in Microsoft Publisher.
