Dear Parents, The following is a list of family activities and suggestions to help your children grow in their faith. * We are learning many new prayers in kindergarten. Your child is very excited to pray with you .Please recite the Hail Mary, the Glory Be, and the Blessing before Meals . This is a great way to bring family prayer time into your home. *Share the importance of prayer in your family. Pray daily: before meals, morning and nightly prayers or "just talking to God". Prayers can be spontaneous or traditional prayers. Allow your children to add their own special intentions. *Visit church and attend Sunday Liturgy as a family. Let your child get acquainted with God's House. Perhaps a visit to our Grotto for your special prayers to Mary. *Celebrate Holidays and Holy Days and special family events. Develop your own family traditions. *Take time to listen to your child's day. Have everyone share something special about their day. Learning to be a good listener is a gift from God. *Turn off the T.V., share a good book, have a family game night and enjoy and laugh together. *Make cards for family members or neighbors - sending a cheery note can brighten anyones day. Love your neighbor as yourself. *Talk about manners and good behavior. (walk in the footsteps of Jesus) Teach children the importance of saying "I'm sorry". Good deeds and kind words bring harmony to God's world. Family time can be an enriching time for all. Enjoy God's wonderful world together and allow your faith to blossom and grow. God Bless you and your family. Mrs. Meyer |
