                             Thankful for November

Please make sure that your child is re-reading the weekly story and going over the vocabulary on Wednesday nights.  The selection tests are usually given on Thursdays.

I enjoyed meeting with each of you on Tuesday and Thursday night.  We truly have great parents here at OLL!

Our class will be shopping at the Book Fair during our library time on Wednesday, November 18 and again on Thursday, November 19, after lunch recess.  The children have brought home an invitation to invite their grandparent to come and shop with them on the 18th.  Parents are also welcome to join us on that day.

Please be aware that there will be a Science test on Tuesday, November 17  The children have known about this for about a week.  They brought home Science textbook, workbook and vocabulary to study over the weekend, in order to be the "Science Jeopardy Champion" on Monday.

     Remember jackets on cold/rainy days.

LITURGY OF THE WORD WITH CHILDREN Many of our first, second, and third graders are regularly attending Liturgy of the Word with Children at the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass.  This is a wonderful way for your young children to participate in the Sunday Mass.  Children leave their pews before the First Reading and go to the Pieta Room to hear the readings read from the Lectionary for Masses with Children.  They have the opportunity to discuss and reflect on these readings.  Children go back to their seats at the Offertory.  Make the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass a habit in your household.  Children often like the routine of going to the same Mass, especially when it offers something special for them.

Please continue to email me if you have any questions or concerns.  I appreciate your ongoing support!
