Do you offer free and reduced price lunches?
Free and reduced price lunches are available to families who quality.
Application forms are sent home at the beginning of each school year and are
available upon request throughout the year. All information supplied on the
application is kept strictly confidential.

What is the proceedure for purchasing hot lunches?
All lunches in the cafeteria are pre-paid. Families who do not participate
in the lunch program are required to have 5 emergency pre-paid lunches in
the cafeteria. Every family should send a check for lunches in the
beginning of the school year. Lunch price is $2.00 per day. Please make
checks payable to SBCS Food Service. Lunches not used will be carried over
month to month and year to year. Any money left in your account will be
refunded when the student leaves St Bartholomew.

How do I know when my children need more lunch money?
Each family will have a 6x9 brown cafeteria envelope. When your children
need more lunch money notices are put in these envelopes and inserted in
your Tuesday mail envelopes. Money is due the next day. The cafeteria
envelope should be put back in your Tuesday envelope and returned to school
the next day. Please do not lick your brown cafeteria envelope or write
notes on your white card.

What if my child owes cafeteria fees?
Students owing cafeteria fees will not be given a report card. The cafeteria
can refuse to feed any child owing cafeteria fees a hot lunch.

Why do we need emergency lunches if they pack everyday?
Many different things can happen to a child's lunch in a day. Lunches are
left in the car, left on the bus, ruined by exploding or leaking drinks,
juices, or yogurts. Some lunches have even come to school and we have found
moldy bread. There are many reasons to have emergency lunches.

Are there any foods not permitted in the cafeteria?
Pop is not permitted in the cafeteria. Fast Food is also not permitted in
the cafeteria. Birthday treats are passed out in the classroom.
