Does the 4th grade have snack time?
Fourth graders will be eating lunch this year at 12:25 pm, and because of
this later time, they are asked to bring a NUTRITIOUS snack to school every
day. Please make an effort to make sure your child has this snack packed in
their backpack everyday. The students will not be allowed to share their
snack with others, so if your child forgets his or hers, they will not have
anything for that day. This snack is intended to be a brain booster to help
stay focused. The following is a list of some acceptable items to bring:
Cheese crackers (Goldfish, Cheese Nips, etc)
Trail mix
Granola bars
Fruit (apples, grapes, bananas, already cut and peeled oranges, etc.)
Fruit cups with a spoon and napkin
Baggie of whole grain type cereal (Cheerios, Crispix, Chex, etc.)
Bagel
Peanut butter crackers
Cheese crackers
Pbj sandwich
Yogurt with spoon and napkin
Pretzels
Popcorn
Please DO NOT SEND:
Potato chips
Doritos, Fritos, Cheetos, or any other snack type chips
Candy of any kind
Cookies
Little Debbie type snacks
Doughnuts
Sweetened cereal
Drinks of any kind

Does 4th grade change for gym?
Yes, all 4th graders are required to change for gym. Since we have gym on
Tuesday and Friday this year, they will need clothes for both days. They
will need shorts,t-shirts (with no inappropriate writing), and gym shoes.
We would suggest you write their names in these clothes and well as their
uniforms.

Why do we need to sign the homework notebook?
We ask that you sign the homework notebook for a couple of reasons. First,
it is our link from school to home. Sometimes we will write notes to you in
the notebooks. Also, we know that if you have signed it, you know if your
child is doing their homework. Finally, it helps the children learn
organizational skills. They should check off each thing they have done,
then they should bring it to you to sign. Please be sure to sign them each
night, because there are consequences if they are not signed. Usually we do
not require fourth graders to have their homework notebooks signed after 1st
quarter. This gives them time to adjust before they take on more
responsibility.

Can we bring in birthday treats?
Sure! We are happy to celebrate your child's day. All that we ask is that
you have it already cut (if it needs to be cut) and have it individually
wrapped. Please do not send drinks.
