We are currently studying the 10 Commandments.  Please go over these with your child nightly.  They only need to know the Commandment, not the explanation.

The Ten Commandments

1.      I, the Lord, am your God.  You shall not have other gods besides me.

Ø       I remember to pray.

2.      You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain.

Ø       I speak God’s name only in prayer or in conversation about God.

3.      Remember to keep holy the Sabbath.

Ø       I attend Mass each Sunday.

4.      Honor your father and your mother.

Ø       I respect and obey my parents.

5.      You shall not kill.

Ø       I am careful not to say mean or hurtful things to others.

6.      You shall not commit adultery.

Ø       I respect my body and the bodies of others.

7.      You shall not steal.

Ø       I treat other people’s property with care.

8.      You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

Ø       I always try to tell the whole truth.

9.      You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife.

Ø       I respect the promises that married people have made to each other.

10.You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor.

Ø       I try not to be greedy or jealous.
