I-WALK - THIS FRIDAY
Children will receive a new I-Walk t-shirt on Thursday. They should wear their new shirt on Friday. Our goal is a $20 donation per child by FRIDAY. Please make sure your child wears sunscreen and has a water bottle as temperatures are expected to be in the mid-80's. Younger children will be walking in the morning while older children walk in the afternoon.
ZOO FIELD TRIP
We have 12 parents who volunteered to chaperone for the Zoo Trip! We hope all of you will join us. Parents who are bringing siblings can be responsible for their own child but will not be assigned other students. Since 8 of the parents have zoo passes, it would be easiest for them to meet us at the zoo picnic area. If you would like to drive with other interested parents in our class, those with passes who plan to attend include:
Jake Warren Juli Bick Amy Puthoff Jennifer Hamad
Gina Mechley Kelly Hoog Melanie Richter Cathy Ogilvie (siblings)
The parents who volunteered but do not have passes and should drive together (one free car admission through the school) are:
Kay Morgan Stacey Fasbender Carrie Daly Heather Brewer
These four parents should meet in our classroom. Mrs. Daly has volunteered to drive. You will park with the buses near the picnic area. Any of the passholders who prefer to carpool can also meet in our classroom but you will be asked to park in the regular lot which should be free to passholders. Please call or email with any questions.
OLYMPIC DAY
Olympic Day is Wednesday, May 6th. We are looking for volunteers to staff the event. If you are interested, please contact Christy Gagnon at 324-1394 or gagnon.christy@yahoo.com. Thanks for your help.
I-WALK
What is it? The I-Walk is a fundraiser to Tuition Assistance. Our goal is to have each child find sponsors for a combined $20 per student (ie. grandma $5, grandpa $10, aunt $5, etc.). Students are NOT expected to go door to door looking for donors. We also realize that not everyone will be able to participate in this amount.
On May 25th, the students will be walking laps around the school/church property. There will be stations along the walk where children can obtain different goodies (ie. banana station, snow cones, water, etc.). Beginning on May 10th, we will begin 15 days of fitness up until I-Walk day. Children will be encouraged to do laps around the walking track with their class at random times during the day. They will be asked to do laps when their families are up at school for sports practices and during recess. If your child does laps while with you, please send in a note so their laps are counted towards classroom totals. The classroom with the highest number of laps wins the coveted "Stinky Shoe" announced at the I-Walk. Thanks for your participation.
BUDDY PICNIC
The 8th grade buddy picnic is scheduled for Tuesday, May 29th. This is the last time our students will meet with their buddies before they graduate. First graders traditionally give their 8th grade buddy(buddies) a $5 gift card as a graduation gift. (The 8th graders have given the first graders Xmas gifts and Easter Bunny baskets). Children are to pack their lunches. We will eat at Hilvert Center and play outdoors for an extended recess period (weather permitting).
