Poor Augustus Gloop, didn’t get to see too much of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory! Ask your child about what happened to him. Everyone is truly enjoying this book, you could hear a feather drop in the room while I’m reading it aloud.
On Monday we are starting multiplication. There are a few students who still need multiplication flashcards that go up to 12x12. These children have been reminded that they need them.
Gingerbread houses are Friday! I am thrilled about the number of volunteers we will have to help us decorate! Thank you!!! I still need volunteers to help construct the houses on Wednesday. It is a very simple process of spreading icing on graham crackers and building it around milk cartons. Please let me know if you will be able to help or not. As of now I’ll be doing this on my own. Reminder: we need the icing, graham crackers and candy by Tuesday so I can get a count of what we have and what we still need. To anyone who forgot about sending the paper the pink paper in (I know how things get lost on desks and countertops!) we still need the following candy for decorating:
Nonpareils Red Licorice Green Spearmint Leaves
Spree candies Fruit Stripes Gum Red and Green Peppermints
Life Savers Necco Wafers green tinted coconut
Kit Kats Butter Ring cookies colorful hard candies
In science we have been working on matter. So far we have talked about the physical properties and physical changes to matter. Next week we will tackle the chemical properties and chemical changes that happen to matter. We will have a test the following week.
I hope everyone received the letter about Bradley our Adopt-a-Family member. All donations (money or gifts) need to be turned in by Friday December 18th. I will shop over the weekend with any money that I receive. The gifts will be delivered on Monday, December 21st.
