Sight Words Please keep practicing sight words with your child. The students need to be able to read them from sight…not sounding them out. Knowing these words will help increase their reading fluency. TEACH YOUR CHILD ABOUT GOD’S GREAT LOVE… *Love your child even if you don’t love her/his behavior. That’s the way God loves. *Use “no” as a loving word. Hearing it occasionally teaches self-control. *Always give second chances. Thankfully, God does. Counting: Please have your child practice counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's. Also, have them complete a sequence of numbers with numbers left out. Example: 5, 10, ___, 20 1, 2, 3, ___ 2, 4, ___, 8 Sight Words: Please practice reading the sight words assigned each week. Sight words are the most commonly used words in our oral language and written language. Students need to be able to read them by sight. They will be tested every 4 to 6 weeks to evaluate their progress.
