We are now working on Chapter 3 in our textbook, Ancient Egypt and Nubia.
This chapter's focus is the culture of Ancient Egypt, its rulers and gods,
and the geography that made it possible. The chapter also looks at ancient
Nubia and the relationship between Nubia and Egypt.
This chapter contains too much material to complete before the Thanksgiving
break. Therefore we will break the chapter test into two parts. Part 1 will
cover sections 1, 2, and 3. The Part 1 test will be Thursday, November 19.
Students should re-read pages 68-89, study the Assessment questions in their
folders, the Key Terms for the three sections (very important), and the
Section Reviews which will be returned and gone over on Monday. Since we have
not completed the chapter, the online practice test cannot be used for extra
credit at this time.
We will be going to the Cincinnati Museum Center on December 10 for the
Egyptian exhibit and Omnimax film. The permission slips for this field trip
were sent home today. Permission slips and admission fee are due back by
Friday, November 20.
