6th Grade Reading

Hatchet

We have finished our novel, "Hatchet". I've never seen a class not want to
stop reading at the end of the class period. This book's a keeper. There are
a few "sequels" to Hatchet that your child may enjoy. Have them take a look
at the library to see what's available.
We watched the movie and have written a 3 point paragraph either comparing or
contrasting the novel and the movie. It counts as Expression and reading
grade.

Hatchet novel test: Monday, November 2nd.

The second quarter book project has been handed out to your child. They must
choose a book (5th grade level or 3pts.) and create a scrapbook from the main
character's point of view. There are very specific guidelines, so please
have your child re-check their work.
Projects are due Nov. 18-20th.

We will begin our next novel, The Egypt Game, next week.
               Please remember:
16 Accelerated Reader pts. required for each quarter.
