The grades below require a student obtain a certain number of points per quarter. Here is what is required for second quarter.

4th grade	11
5th grade	12
6th grade	16
7th grade	15
8th grade	25

There are more specific requirements for books. (points grade level etc.)

The class novels read in each grade will count for the quarter points.

4th grade books: Must be at a 3.5 reading level or above.

5th grade books: Each book read must be at least 3 points, if it is under 3 points, the reading level must be at least a 4.0 for the second quarter.

6th grade books: Each book read must be at least 3 points, if it is under 3 points, the reading level must me at least a 5.0 for the second quarter.

7th grade books: Each book read must be at least 4 points, if it is under 4 points, the reading level must be at least a 5.5 for the second quarter.

8th grade books: Each book read must be at least 4 points, if it is under 4 points, the reading level must be at least a 5.5 for the second quarter
