Parents,
On Tuesday, November 24, I received a severe dog bite (actually laceration of
the left leg). I have been fighting infection and blood clots for the past
two weeks. On Monday, I saw a surgeon who removed the sutures and cut out
dead tissue. He said that I need to keep my leg elevated above my heart as
much as possible so I cannot be at school. Classes are continuing on
schedule with our very competent substitute teachers. I will see the surgeon
again on Friday at which time I will find out if there is any more dead
tissue and whether or not I will need skin grafts. Please pray that surgery
will not be necessary. Mrs. Baxter is available if students have questions
about Science Fair projects.
