Looking forward to the week of November 9...Unit 11 spelling sentences are
due on Tuesday, November 10. Please write the sentences in cursive and have
an adult look over them to check for misspellings. Our pretest in spelling
will be on Wednesday, November 11. SMS will be honoring our local veterans
with an assembly on Wednesday, November 11, at 10:00AM. Please join us for
this tribute. Picture retakes are on Monday, November 9. Michael Berenstein
will have a presentation to grades K-3 on Monday, November 9. The end of the
first Trimester is Friday. Parents are asked to sign in for a parent-teacher
conference starting tomorrow on "Pick-a-Time." You will be given a URL on
the SMS website starting tomorrow, Monday, November 9 at 6:00 AM. Conferences
will be held on Monday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 24. Grade 3D will
be receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation at 1:15 PM on Tuesday, November
the 10. There will be a test in science on Friday, November 13. We have made
a graphic organizer and a vocabulary sheet that reviews the important
information on Chapter 2 Unit B as well as a study guide. Please encourage
your child to review these papers for the test on Friday. I extended the
deadline for Accelerated Reader points until Monday, November 9. The
students need to accumulate 5 points in the first Trimester to be eligible
for an O or S+ in reading. Starting November 16, a group of students will be
going to Mrs. Knollman on Mondays for reading enrichment activities. Every
child will be going to this class sometime in the remainder of this year. I
will be sending them in three groups of 10.
