This week we begin our Social Studies Unit on the History of Communities. We begin with interviewing family members about the history of our family. Then we will research history of our city, Cincinnati. The children will be given the instructions for their Cincinnati History Project on Wednesday. I will give them a list of choices of topics. I would like them to choose a topic by Friday. The third grade web page, Cincinnati Sites, will help your child with their research of the topic. We will learn how to search for information using the internet in the computer lab this week.

We are also beginning our Unit in math on 3 digit addition and subtraction with regrouping. We are also going to learn ways to solve word problems using graphic sources and drawing pictures. Some of the children need to practice their facts. This will really help them with this unit.

Remember to return report cards and conference slip requests ASAP.
