Thank you again for coming to our All-School Liturgy and the parent-student lunch. It was a great way to end our weekly celebration. Our parent volunteers help to make St. Teresa a special caring community. You really are the best!
Last week I gave the children their instructions for the President's report that is due on Feb. 22nd. They need to return their slips with the name of the President they chose and the project they will use to report to the class by Monday. Please let me know if you have any questions. The children will also need to read an AR book of their choice and at their reading level this month. The book should be a chapter book at least 55 pages long. The AR test will be a test grade for the third quarter.
We also began our Social Studies unit on changes in technology over time. The children will learn about changes in transportation and communication that changed our country over the last two centuries.
This week we begin Chapter 5 on multiplication in math. Please take time to review your child's math homework this month. There are many strategies for learning to multiply we'll use to solve problems. Then the kids will need to start memorizing their facts. Remember our school website has many activities to practice facts.
Finally, we are introducing adverbs this coming week. The children will learn to identify and use adverbs in their writing. The grade three writing competency testing is the first week of March.
I look forward to meeting some of you on Thursday during conferences. We will also exchange valentines on Thursday afternoon. Enjoy your long weekend coming up!
