Pen Pals and Other Projects |

I have signed us up for two projects so far and I have one more project we will sign up for this spring. 1. Pen Pals: We are pen pals with a second grade that is in a farming community in California. This is a great way to learn about other communities, as well as learning to write letters and improving general writing skills. UPDATE: We have received our first letters from our pals and we have written our first letters to them. I also sent your child's photo to their pal. We are hoping to receive their photos also. 2. We are part of a USA postcard exchange. We will be sending postcards to each state of the USA and receiving one to two in return from each state. This is a fun way to learn our geography. We will find each state on the map as we receive their cards. We will then color the states on our own personal maps. The postcards will be displayed in the hallway on a large US map. I will be asking for donations of Ohio/Cincinnati postcards and postage. We will hopefully be needing 99 postcards and enough postage for them. 3... In the spring, I plan to sign us up for a community egg exchange. We did this last year and it was a lot of fun.
