This is what we will be learning about in class:

Reading/Phonics: The students will be reading the story I Can during centers, practicing sight words (I, am, at, a, can) and practicing letter recognition and sounds for the consonants.  We will also be doing a unit on The Polar Express with story recall and sequencing skills being targeted. 

Language Arts: Learning that nouns are people, places, animals and things. Ask your child to give you an example of a noun.

Math: counting to and writing the numbers 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12

Religion: Advent, preparing for Jesus' birthday, the story of the first Christmas,

Handwriting: correct hold/grip for a pencil, writing letters r, n, m, h, and y correctly. Ask your child to sing our numbers song to help them form their numbers the correct way.

Social Studies: our counrty - symbols of the USA, first Americans, important people of history, travel and how it has changed over time and how cities have grown and changed 

Others: Christmas
