Writing Assignment
Narrative Paragraph
For this assignment, you will write a paragraph that tells a story.
Choose from one of the following topics:
- a funny or unusual event at school
- a funny story about a pet
- a special experience with a friend or family member
- something that happened on the first day of school
- a visit to a new place
- something scary that happened to you
Your paragraph must have the following to receive a good grade:
v an interesting lead sentence which is indented
v at least three good supporting sentences that give good details
v a good closing sentence
v correct spelling, punctuation and capitalization
v all sentences related to the main idea
v your best handwriting (may also be typed in a readable font, 12-18 point size, no script)
v spaces between lines (double-spaced if typed)
Due Dates:
These assignments must be finished by the beginning (not the end) of the day they are due.
