Dear Parents,
Next Sunday is Valentine's Day. Our room mother is going to send a treat
in for your children, and they are allowed to pass out valentines to all the
children in the room on Thursday. Happy Valentine's Day!

Dear Parents,
Thank you for coming to Open House. I made $309 for Bishop Chris, a
friend of mine who is a missionary in the Solomon Islands. I hope you bought
a book of two for your child because reading is very important. God bless!

Dear Parnets,
We did a great job carrying our snowman flashlights in the entrance
procession on Wednesday, that Father Bolte has asked our class to carry
candles on Tuesday, February 2nd, for the Feast of the Presentation of the
Lord. So we will attend the 8:30 Mass on Tuesday, and Father Bolte will
bless candles and the third graders in my class will process around the
church. Please join us and pray with us. Thank you and God bless!
Just a reminder, that there is an Open House this Sunday from 12:30 until
2:00. I will be selling books, pizza cutters, and things for my friend,
Bishop Chris Cardone, a missionary in the Solomon Islands.
Thank you and God bless!

Dear Parents,
Last year, at this time, I was in the Philippines, because Father Bolte
asked for one teacher representative, and I was honored that the teachers
picked me. During Open House on Sunday, January 31st, I will sell Scholastic
Books for the missions in the Solomon Islands, where my friend Bishop Chris
is stationed. According to the Catholic Telegraph there was a 7.2 earthquake
there on January 4, 2010, that left thousands of people homeless. We really
have so much to be thankful for. In the Phillipines we saw little children
eating out of the garbage dump. The pastor at St. Teresa of Avila in the
Philippines got transferred, so we are waiting for the new pastor to sign the
twinning papers. I will show a slide show of some of the pictures from the
Philippines during Open House.
Wednesday is our Special Mass that we planned. Some of your children
will be reading at Mass. The children are going to carry up snowman
flashlights in the entrance procession and sing "This Little Light of Mine".
In Religion, we are learning about Jesus, who is our Light, and we should
share the Light of Christ with others. I hope you can join us for Mass.
Friday was the end of the second quarter. Most of your kids did a
fantastic job. When your child has any "Do over" pages, please help him/her
do them as soon as possible and return them to me. I just finished grading
all my papers, and I put all the grades on the computer. Now, Mrs. Willmes
will look at the report cards on the computer, and Mrs. Vogt will print them
out on Monday. Your children will bring them home on Friday. Please sign
them and return them to school as soon as possible. Thank you!
We are going on Miss Hope's field trip to Xavier. I just didn't want to
get it mixed up with our field trip to Rumpke Landfill. The permission slips
will be coming home on Monday. Sorry, I forgot to send them home on Friday.
We started our imaginary trip to Australia. I hope your children are excited
about visting Mrs. McGrath's class and learning Language Arts and Science.
The children in her class will be coming to my class to learn about Math and
Social Studies. They will also be learning about Australia in Computers,
Music, and Art.
Please come to Open House on Sunday, January 31st, and buy a book or two
for $1.00 each. Someone gave me a donation, so that each of your children
can pick out a book for free. I also have Pizza cutters, and some other
kitchen gadgets for $1.00 each. There will also be a raffle. Tickets are 25
cents or 5 for $1.00. I hope you can come. God bless!
Love & Prayers,
Mrs. Garner
