Mrs. Garner started teaching at St. Teresa School in 1968. She got
married to a wonderful man named Charlie in 1976. They have one son named
Jimmy, who is working for the United Nation in Vienna, Austria.
Mrs. Garner has her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Xavier
University, and an Advanced Certificate to teach Religion. Her favorite
subjects to teach are Religion and Math. She went to Vienna to visit her son
in the summer of 2006. She also went to the General Audience in Rome, and
shook Pope Benedict's hand.
Last year, Father Bolte picked me to represent the teachers from
St.Teresa School for the Twinning Project in the Philippines. It was a great
opportunity for my husband and I to travel. We saw little children eating
trash from a garbage dump. We went on a retreat with Bishop Tagle from the
Philippines. The people at St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Talisay City lined
the streets and welcomed us. Some of the adults sang a song and danced for
us. It was a wonderful experience! Please pray for us, and the people in the
Philippines. Thank you!
