How can I help my child work to his/her fullest potential in school?

I know that the coloring, drawing, writing, behavior, etc. that the children
display at the beginning of school may not be the same as what you see at
home. There are many more distractions here, and there are time frames within
which they have to complete their work. As they adjust to this new situation,
it should improve. You can help by encouraging your son/daughter to always put
forth a good effort and to do their very best. Your support from home is
greatly appreciated!

What type of homework do kindergartens have?

At various times throughout the school year your child will be responsible to
bring in an item for a special sharing time and may be asked to practice a
specific skill or concept at home for homework. The sharing items will be
related to a specific topic we are studying and the homework will be simple
practice opportunities for your child to strengthen his/her skills. The
homework opportunities should only last for 10 to 15 minutes depending on how
well your child is able to focus. Homework is not meant to frustrate your
child. This part of our school day will be communicated to you throughout the
year in the Kindergarten News as needed.
