Getting to Know Mrs. Hunt

You may be surprised to know that I grew up in Sylvania. I attended
Stranahan myself, McCord, and Southview. As a student I was very involved in
sports and I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher.

I went to the University of Findlay on a basketball scholarship. I was lucky
to be a part of a winning program. We made it to the Final Four twice and my
4 X 8 team won a national championship in track. I will always cherish the
memories I made, the people I met, and the character building lessons I
learned. I was blessed enough to be named the Student Athlete of the Year my
senior year. So, I know what it takes to be a good student and not let
extracurricular activities take away from studies. I am passionate about
teaching kids how to be organized and manage their time wisely.

I met my husband, Kyle, in college. He was also a basketball player and
grew up in the Toledo area. He is also a teacher. We have 3 beautiful
children who never cease to amaze me. Our son, Kasey, is in 1st grade.
Kamryn, our daughter, is in kindergarten. Finally, our youngest, Kali, just
turned one this past summer. I am very thankful for the many blessings that
I have been given. My passions include faith, family, friends, reading,
teaching, and running.
I enjoy encouraging students to become independent thinkers who take pride in
their work and become lifelong learners inside the classroom and outside.
Most importantly my classroom will be a place that fosters creativity, self
respect, respect for others, and self progress.
