Class Policies

My classroom is a safe learning environment.  It is my job to make sure that you feel safe to learn, ask questions, make mistakes, and be yourself.  I will enforce my rules and policies to the full extent to make sure that you learn in my classroom.

High school is meant to prepare you for adult life.  It is your responsibility to do the work, be on time, and make up missed assignments and tests.

Missed Work

Absent students are given 2 days to complete missing work, before points will be deducted.  To make up quizzes or tests, the student must make arrangements with the teacher for make-up before or after school, or during a student’s study hall.  If after 2 days the quiz or test is not made up (or arranged to be made up), the student will be assigned a ZERO.

Late assignments are not accepted by any member of the Northview science faculty.  Homework must be turned in the day it was due to be accepted.  No assignments will be accepted after that.

Cheating

Any student caught cheating will receive a zero - this grade cannot be changed.  Parents will be notified and a meeting with the assistant principal and counselor may be scheduled.  Any student caught cheating will deal with the school board approved consequences (See student handbook about cheating).

Extra Credit

Occasional extra credit assignments will be given through out the year.  I strongly recommend that you take full advantage of them, when they are offered.  No other additional extra credit will be given - so don't ask.
