What is PSEO?
Post Secondary Enrollment Option -- PSEO, permits high school students in grades 9 - 12 to
earn college and high school graduation credit through the successful completion of college
courses. There are two ways that students can earn credit.
Option A:
The student may elect, at the time of enrollment, to receive post-secondary credit from the
college for the course(s) he/she takes at college.
Option B:
The student may elect, at the time of enrollment, for each course to receive college and high school
credit for the course fulfilling the graduation requirement of his/her school district.
In order to participate in PSEO, there are certain requirements that must be met by every student.
All students must meet with their guidance counselor before or during their junior year to find out
about important dates and information. During the month of February, students and parents must
attend the informational meeting given by district guidance counselors and college representatives.
This MEETING IS MANDATORY!! At the meeting, all information will be given and students will
know if they are eligible or not. There are many pros and cons about participation, so it is extremely
important to learn all of the information.
