Reading requires practice like any skill.
Students must read a total of 60 minutes a day. I try to provide 20 to 30
minutes silent reading time for each student during school time. Each
student should be reading at least 30 minutes at home EVERY day. This
includes Saturday and Sunday. Reading to your child is a GREAT way to
accomplish some of that requirement.
The reading homework is changing as of the new trimester, November 16, 2009.
Each student is assigned a total of Accelerated Reading points that they are
to earn each week for homework. Students should be reading books at their
recommended reading level.
