When are band booster meetings?

The first Thursday of the month at 7:30pm, in the band room.
During marching season, they are the first and third Thursdays of the 
month.

How much is dry cleaning?

$30.00

Do the students have to participate in marching band?

Yes, unless they play football, football cheerleading.

When does summer marching band begin?

Generally, 6 weeks before school begins which is usually the third week  in July.

Does the student have to participate in every performance?

Yes because band is a group performance medium; all parts and 
persons are 
equally important. It is also a part of your grade

How much credit do students receive for band?

For the year, 1.5 credits.
Non-marching Band students receive .5 credit

Are other classes and activities an excuse for missing 1st period band?

NO!  1st period marching band is a class;  attendance at the class is a 
part of the band grade because band is a performance class.  
Absences effect the practice and performance of the WHOLE band!!!

Is there a conflict between band and IB/AP classes?

No, many of the advanced students are also band students.  Many of the 
top ten 
students in the senior graduating class are band members in good 
standing

Is there a conflict between sports and band?

No, band students may participate in any and every sport.  Football 
players, 
cheerleaders, and boy golfers can only participate in athletic band.  Over 
half the band students participate in sports

Can band students participate in drama?

Yes, most of the drama students are also in band.  Both organizations 
coordinate the school musical

Is it possible for a band student to be on the Robotics Team?

Yes, all Robotics Team events are afterschool and/or evening.  The 
team 
advisors and the instrumental music departments work to coordinate 
schedules

Is it possible for a band student to participate at the vocational school?

No, students who go to vocational school can no longer participate in band
because of the change in 
the marching band rehearsal times from 1:30pm  to 8am.
