Miller's Mustangs
Dec. 6,2009

Vaccines are this week, if you signed a permission slip for your child to participate 12/10.

The students that attended the teacher’s lunch for AR points were DIAMOND KYRA BROOKE DREW
MARCUS JACOB K. MADISON D.D. TRINITY and BRADEN. CONGRATULATIONS!
This is a catch up month. Your child should complete their 15 points by the end of the month. If
he/she already have 15 points they may move ahead.

I sent home the October Reading State Test results this past Thursday. If your child did not pass this
test do not worry we have another one to take in the spring. I really believe everyone in this class
can pass the test if each student takes their time, reads each question carefully and looks up the
answers. They must check over their work. They have 2 and a half hours to complete the test. I
have seen a lot of improvement these past 2 months with their fluency and comprehension. Please
continue reading at home. The web site http://portal.success-ode-state-oh-us.info/Practice Test
will give your child past state tests in math and reading they can do on the computer. This is also on
my web page under links.

Student Council is selling candy canes. Information was sent home on Friday.
Spirit Week is this week.
Monday- PJ day
Tues.-Hat day
Wednesday-Blue/White day
Thurs.-Backwards Day
Fri.-Favorite Sports Team Day

We are still planning to attend the play on Friday. I will be at the front doors of the theater at 6:15 to
purchase tickets. Adults are $5.00 and children up to age 16 is $3.00. The doors will open at 6:30.
The play will start at 7:00 and last until 8:00. If parents do not stay I will meet you with your child in
front of the doors at 8:00. The theater is in Marietta on the corner of Putnam and Third Street. We
will be reading the book “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” in class this week. It is your child’s book
so they may bring the book home for you to read.

We had two awesome visitors this past Friday. Noah brought in his sugar gliders. They are small
mammals from Australia that are just adorable. You can go on the web site sugarglidersareus to see
these precious creatures. Thank you Noah and Mrs. Smith for sharing your family with us.

We will be making candy houses this week on Friday. I have purchased all the graham crackers and
caramels. Your child may bring in food items to decorate their homes such as candy, cereal,
marshmallows, and pretzels. They do not need the whole box just small baggies of items by Friday.
Just bring food that is stale or no one is eating. I have quite a bit to share if you don’t have
anything.
