BOOK REPORT GUIDELINES
SECOND NINE WEEKS
POSTER
Goals:
• Get book by author by November 23, 2009
• Have book read by January 4, 2010
• January 4-10 (time to complete poster)
• Presentations begin January 11, 2010
Content Requirements –
• Summary (fewer than a dozen sentences informing reader of
the “highlights”)
• Character Description(s) (both main and minor)
• Setting (time and place)
• Plot (use Plot Mountain to place events of the book into appropriate
parts of the mountain)
• Theme (remember, not a command; rather a thought)
• Author information
• Creativity (few pictures, color, design)
Suggestions –
• A few pictures are fine, but they shouldn’t cover more than one-
fourth of your poster board.
• Typing or writing everything you want to say in your presentation is
NOT permitted; the poster is to be used as a visual aide for the audience to
get a feel for what the book is about. Other than the summary, whole
paragraphs are not permitted.
• Theme: Time has a way of creeping up on one and biting him/her in
the buttocks!!!
