WHS Student Council

 

Hey Everybody:

 

          The end of the year is here!  The StuCo year, anyway.  Our new Exec Board has been elected, and:

          PRESIDENT: Devon Burnfield (11) (wl-11dburnfield@seovec.org)

          VICE-PRESIDENT: Drew Arnold (10)

          SECRETARY: Chelsea Smith (11)

          TREASURER: Lindsay Milhoan (12)

          COMMUNICATIONS: Cort Zoller (12)

 

          Congrats to these five, who have already started taking on important leadership activities and duties.  They will officially take office on Monday, May 11.  Their first meeting in charge will be the full-body meeting on Wednesday, May 20, which is also the first meeting for ALL 2009-2010 student council officers.

          Which brings us to: your class officers apps!  The new Exec Board will review them this coming week, and there will be elections if necessary before Friday, May 15.  Remember that all people who turn in a COMPLETE officer application are eligible to be on StuCo as a Class Rep, even if they lose the election.  However, please note that class reps must follow the SAME attendance and participation requirements as an officer. 

          Quick reminders:

          YOU MUST CARRY A 2.5 GPA TO BE A MEMBER OF STUDENT COUNCIL.  This rule WILL be enforced this coming year, and will be taken into account during the application process if need be.

          BE APPRISED OF THE ATTENDANCE POLICY.  3 strikes and you are out.  Unless you talk to Mrs. Tucker or the Exec Board Secretary BEFORE you are absent.

 

          We have really been fortunate to work with this group of people this year.  No drama, no big problems, and lots of accomplishments.  All of the 08-09 Exec Board wants to thank you guys for a job well done.  We’re passing the baton and the process has been incredibly smooth, and we have total confidence in the ability of our successors.  Continue, all of you, to step up and stand out as a role model and leader in your class, your school, and in life across the board.  We look forward to working with all of you next year, albeit in different capacities, and to what we as an organization can do to make next year even better than the current one!

*There is a full-body meeting on Wednesday May 20^th. ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE ELECTED AS CLASS OFFICERS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND.  We will be electing positions (if necessary) and discussing other stuff, like Homecoming (!!!) and committee assignments and Summer stuff.  Talk to Mrs. Tucker if there are problems.*
