Mrs. Cannon
I'm starting my 34th year of teaching. I've taught Kindergarten,
First Grade, Second Grade, Reading Recovery, and Learning Disabilities. I'm
looking forward to this year, working with my new students and parents. I
moved to Indiana several years ago and enjoy living in the woods in my log
house with my adorable husband, youngest son, and two dogs, Katie and Grainne,
and two kittens, Max and Torti.
I spent the summer reading and going to physical therapy. I had my right
knee replaced in the winter and the left replaced this summer. Knee surgery
has slowed me down, but not for long, hopefully. I hope to be biking,
hiking, and boating before too long.
The picture was taken in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada at the top
of a mountain that I had ridden my bike up. The moose made all that hard
work worth it.
I believe that every child can be successful in school. It is my
responsibility to make sure that each student reaches his/her full
potential. I believe school should be a safe place for every child, a place
where each individual can become a confident learner. I have high
expectations for each child and know that he/she will learn to read, write,
and attain grade appropriate math skills. I believe that parents and
teachers are partners and that the success of each child depends upon
cooperation of all.
