This is the last week of the first grading period.
There will be no spelling assignment this week.
We will be working on some skill pages in the practice book.
Monday - Bellwork: abc order - page 86.
Classwork: using commas in compound sentences - pgs 56, 57, 58
Last week: Spelling Unit 7 - short and long vowels
words: shake, desk, block, fright, neat, roast, prune, spray, plant, bread,
speed, drain, fist, pride, truck, flock, cone, crew, blade, dead
Practice work:
1) Write each word missed on the pretest 3x each in print.
2) Write all 20 words in abc order in cursive if you can.
2) Complete practice book pages 99, 100, and 101.
4) Study the words and be ready for a test on Friday, Oct. 23rd.
Mrs. Hess's spelling:
Words: (Homophones) steal, steel, lead, led, wait, weight, wear, ware,
creak, creek, beet, beat, meet, meat, peek, peak, deer, dear, ring, wring
Practice work:
1) Write 10 quality sentences. Use the same homophones together in each
sentence. Use your best handwriting.
2) Complete pages 67, 68, 69 in the spelling workbook.
3) Study the words (flashcards) and be ready for a test on Friday, Oct. 9.
