Top Text Title: Top Text: WRITING CENTER Our Policies and Procedures Our mission is to help our clients become more confident, independent, and successful writers. We do not discuss assigned grades or instructors grading policies. We communicate with our clients instructors about their visits to the Center. We do not proofread for or mark sentence-level errors in our clients writing. Instead, we use the LBH and/or handouts to help our clients become better editors of their own writing. We will give clients feedback and offer suggestions for their writing, but they are ultimately responsible for any writing that they work on in the Center. Clients are limited to one appointment a week and to one appointment at a time. To encourage rethinking and revising between sessions, clients are limited to one SO-minute session every 24 hours. Appointments begin on the hour and typically last for 50 minutes. Consultants will take a walk-in client if a client with a scheduled appointment is more than 5 minutes late. Clients who no show for 2 appointments or cancel 3 appointments may only use the Center on a walk-in basis for the rest of the semester. Walk-in sessions begin as soon as a consultant is available and end at 10 minutes to the hour. We take walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis; however, walk-in sessions will be limited to 25 minutes if another client is waiting. Our computers and printer are available to all students on a firstcome, first-served basis; however, first priority is given to clients who need a computer during a consulting session or consultants who need a computer for Center business.
