What a fun day at Germantown Nature Center on Wednesday! Students enjoyed searching the pond for animals. We also enjoyed searching for fossils in the creek bed. Finally, students got to see lots on neat creatures in the nature center. We couldn't have asked for a better day!

In reading we completed our What Is the Animal Kingdom? story with a short quiz. We learned a lot about the invertebrates and vertebrates. Remember we will be having our last spelling test next Friday. Students brought that spelling list home earlier this week. In math we are gearing up for the fourth grade war tournament next week and our last facts' tests. The tournament will determine the fastest multiplier in the fourth grade. Have your child spend some time practicing this weekend. In social studies we have been learning about the pioneers. We completed our last social studies unit this week. Don't forget our last map test over the Western Region will be next Friday.

In science students began their last unit. They are exploring some of the common problems at a baseball game. Then in groups they will be creating inventions to solve these problems. Students will then be creating a commercial to tell about their great invention. They will be presenting these the last day of school. We hope you can join us to learn about all our creative ideas. I have posted a schedule of the last day if you want to plan to attend.

Enjoy your extra long weekend!
