6/1 News

The week began with our Rainforest Celebration. Students enjoyed visiting different games on Monday that related to our study of the rainforest. All the fourth grade classes enjoyed the day!

In reading students began book presentations. Students are sharing about their favorite book that they read this year. I have been very impressed with their creative talents. They must present a short summary of the book without giving away the ending. Then they must tell why it is their favorite book. The audience members are keeping track of books they want to read over the summer. These orange pages will be coming home next week and would be a good list to start with for summer reading. Thanks to all the great presenters this week! Great job!

In math we continued our baseball math. We enjoyed using math to learn about the baseball snacks. The students also continued their Multiplication War tournament. We had the finals today and the winner was Adam. He will go on next week to compete with all the other fourth grade class champions. Good luck, Adam!

In science students finished creating their pop bottle boats for racing. We learned the physics behind bottle racing and worked on our design this week. Then students took to the water to race their boats against one another in our class. Two groups will go on to compete against the other class winners on Monday. Good luck to Beastly Pancakes (Chris & Kyle) and Flaming Torpedos (Jack & Jordan)!

Enjoy your weekend!
