• The students will not be tested on definitions. They need to be able
to
pick out action verbs in sentences, find the correct past-tense verbs, combine
sentences, use the correct abbreviation for words and write the date
correctly.

-Read a Christmas book.
-Fill out the book report form that is attached.
-Design your own cover for the book you read on a separate sheet of printer
paper. It should be neatly colored. Make sure it includes the title and the
author of the book and your name.
-Memorize a Christmas poem that is at least 40 words long. Bring in a copy of
the poem for the teacher.

Vertex/vertices- The place on a shape where two sides meet.
Congruent- When shapes are the same size and the same shape.
Line of symmetry- divides two halves of a shape into equal parts.
Slide-when a shape is moved without changing its direction. Example: You
would slide down a slide.
Flip- to move a shape so that it is facing the opposite direction. Example:
You would flip a pancake.
Turn- to change the direction of a shape by turning it. Example: You would
turn a doorknob.
