Verbs Test • Test date – December 17, 2009 • Read over pages 140 – 156 in Language Arts text • The students will not be tested on definitions. They need to be able to pick out action verbs in sentences, find the correct past-tense verbs, combine sentences, use the correct abbreviation for words and write the date correctly. ============================================================================== = November 30, 2009 Book Report and Poem Assignment *Due December 16, 2009 *Assignment requirements: -Read a Christmas book. -Fill out the book report form that is attached. -Design your own cover for the book you read on a separate sheet of printer paper. It should be neatly colored. Make sure it includes the title and the author of the book and your name. -Memorize a Christmas poem that is at least 40 words long. Bring in a copy of the poem for the teacher. ============================================================================== Chapter 7 math study guide Test date: Dec. 18, 2009 Students should be able to do the following: • Identify and classify plane shapes • Identify, classify and describe plane shapes by their attributes; identify curves and angles • Identify and draw congruent figures • Identify and draw lines of symmetry • Combine and separate shapes using pattern blocks • Identify slides, flips, and turns • Identify and create geometric patterns ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Chapter 7 Math Vocabulary Week 2 Quiz date: Dec. 18, 2009 Vertex/vertices- The place on a shape where two sides meet. Congruent- When shapes are the same size and the same shape. Line of symmetry- divides two halves of a shape into equal parts. Slide-when a shape is moved without changing its direction. Example: You would slide down a slide. Flip- to move a shape so that it is facing the opposite direction. Example: You would flip a pancake. Turn- to change the direction of a shape by turning it. Example: You would turn a doorknob.
