The Vocal Ensemble (VE) is a choir of
students open to any student at St. Veronica in grades 5-8. The VE has
rehearsal on most Mondays throughout the school year from 3:20-4:45 PM. They
perform several times throughout the year including both school concerts, a
few Sunday liturgies, and the Archdiocese Choral Festival. This year, the VE
will travel to New York City to compete in Performing Arts Consultants
competition as well as tour another great city that our country has to offer!
The St. Veronica Vocal Ensemble traveled to Washington D.C. on March 26-29,
2009 to compete in the Heritage Music Festival. At the competition, the choir
sang beautifully along ranking them 1st in their division and earning them
highest score they've ever received at a competition, giving them the rating
of "Silver." While in D.C., the VE also performed on the steps of the Lincoln
Memorial, and toured the fabulous capitol of this nation. They saw memorials,
such as the Jefferson Memorial, the World War II memorial, the Iwo Jima
memorial, and many more. They also got to experience the National Air and
Space Museum, the Newsuem, and the Smithsonian Museum. It was truly and
fantastic trip had by all students and chaperones! It will be one that we will
never forget!
