Grade 2February 10: Today we talked about lent which begins on Ash Wednesday, which is this Wednesday. Your child chose something to give up for lent, please discuss this with them. We also talked about recieving ashes during mass on Wednesday, I hope you will take your child. Your child also brought home the rice bowls. We have a class goals of $100.00 to collect, so fill those bowls up. Next week we will take lessons from our Eucharstic Sunday books to prepare for our next Eucharistic Sunday. Have a blessed week and Happy Valentines Day.
January 20: Today we continued our discussion about Jesus' life. We talked about the many miracles he did. Next week we will watch a movie about Jesus' miracles and have a scavenger hunt. January 6: Happy New Year. I hope you and your family had a blessed Christmas. The next few weeks your child will learn about Jesus. Today we discussed his conception, his birth and his visit at the temple when he was 12 years old. Have a great week. November 18: Have a blessed Thanksgiving. No class next Sunday. See you on Sunday, December 2. November 11: We had wonderful conversation on making choices. The kids are so honest, I love it. Next week we will continue our lesson on Reconciliation. Please help you child to say the Act of Contrition everyday so they become more familiar with that prayer. Today in class we took our lesson from chapter 2 and 3 in our books for Eucharistic Sunday. I look forward to your childs response to there homework assignment. I collected the kids Eucharistic Sunday books, we will not be needing them for awhile. Next week we will begin preparing for Reconciliation. Please begin to bring in new or gently used toys for the toy collection. Have a blessed week and a safe Hallween. Good New, we still have perfect attendance. I have been teaching for 20 years and there has never been perfect attendance for 5 weeks in a row. Thank you so much. The kids did a great job at having a understanding of the Lords Prayer, what a great bunch of kids you have, you should be so proud. It is not to late to bring in can goods, now if I can only remember to bring some in. The next two weeks we will be preparing for our First Eucharistic Sunday which will be Sunday, October 28, during the 11:00 mass. Your child will recieve another book that will coordinate with Eucharistic Sundays. We will be taking our lessons from the first 3 chapters. Have a blessed week. Thank you also for bringing in all the baptism pictures and baptism symbols, the kids had a great time sharing them. Next week your child will learn the meaning of the Our Father. Reminder: Please bring in can goods. Have a blessed and warm week. GO REDS. We had a great first week of class getting to know each other and going over rules. I have a feeling we are going to have a great year. Next Sunday your child will receive there book and we will take our lesson from chapter 1 in the book, Our Church Welcomes Us. Have a blessed week.
