12/13: If you want to familiarize yourself with the directions for the final exam, you can find them here for Comp and here for AmEx.

12/12: FINAL EXAM INFORMATION:
   - My sections of Comp and AmEx take their exams on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in the Dining Hall.  The Dining Hall will be absolutely full, so I recommend that you arrive by 8:20 to find your seat.
   - Bring pencil(s) for Scantrons and looseleaf paper for written responses.
   - Do not bring any books or notes related to this exam.  If you want to cram right before the test, leave your materials in your locker before going to the Dining Hall.
   - Do bring other material to read or work on in case you finish the exam early.  You will not be dismissed until 10:20.
   - If the Counseling Department has documented that you qualify for extended time on exams, you may come to my classroom at 10:20 to use the rest of your time.  It would be very helpful if you would email me to RSVP for this.
   - For information on the content of the exams, click here for Comp and here for AmEx.

Also, check your Cascia email.  I have sent a list of students who need to make up quizzes.  If you are on this list, come to my classroom immediately after our exam to take your quiz.  If you choose not to attend, I will record a grade of zero for your missing quiz.

Journalism students: Remember that your quarter exam and any make-up assignments for those who were absent for guest speakers are due via email by 8:30 a.m. on Monday 12/14.

12/10: A VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ALL MY ENGLISH STUDENTS:
Your assignment over Minimester is to read
The Great Gatsby (AmEx students)   or   1984 (Comp students).
In addition, on Sunday of each week in Minimester, I will post a discussion question or topic to my TeacherWeb blog (see the link to the left, near the bottom of the list).  By Friday of each week at 8:00 p.m., you must reply to that week's post with your answers, thoughts, comments, etc.
My intention for this assignment is to create not simply a list of answers to my questions, but instead an online discussion, so also read your classmates' responses and try to respond to them as well.  Feel free to post replies as often as you would like.
You will receive a 3rd quarter grade for your thoughtful and meaningful participation in each week's topic.  Since a new discussion will begin each week, posts submitted after each week's deadline will not be considered for a grade.

11/30: The paragraph outline for the Comp RP is moved to Friday.

11/6: I'm thinking about starting a blog here on my TeacherWeb.  See the link at the bottom of the list to the left.
