Why are the make-up quizzes and tests different and harder?

Make up versions may be different and/or harder. If a student is absent
from class on the day of a quiz or test, then he/she has additional time to
prepare for the item and the opportunity to ask questions of other students
regarding test questions. If a student knows that he/she will be absent on
the day of a test or quiz, arrangements can be made to take the in-class
version early.
