Absences

If you have been absent from class, go please check the homework page for
missed assignments,quizzes, or tests.

It is your responsibility to let me know when you will be making up missed
quizzes or tests.

Make-up quizzes and tests may be differ in format from in-class versions and
may be more difficult. If you know that you will be absent because of an
activity, you will be allowed to take the in-class version early.

Please do not ask Mrs. Rankin,"Did we do anything important while I was
gone?"

Student Handbook Policy regarding make-up work.
For excused absences:
In general, students will be granted one school day for each school day
missed. Make-up time will not include the first day back from an absence.
more time may be allowed at the discretion of the teacher depending on the
nature of the assignment(s) and length of absence...
Any student who chooses not to complete missed assignments within the
identified time frame will earn a "0" for those assignments...Projects,
reports, and tests which are known prior to an excused absence are expected
to be turned in and/or taken upon the student's return to school.

For unexcused absences:
Work missed may be made up. However, credit may not be given for work missed
during an unexcused absence.

Extended absences:
If students anticipate their absence will go beyond three school days, they
may request missed work through the dean's offices, contact me by e-mail
srankin@casciahall.org, or students may go to the appropriate homework page
of this
website.
