Thank you for visiting the Choctaw Junior High School Art Class Web Pages.
These pages are designed to open a line of positive and informative
communication between myself and my students, and their parents. Please
visit often and feel free to contact me.
This is my fourth year as a visual arts instructor at CJHS and I am
delighted to have the opportunity to introduce my students to the wonderful
world of art and creativity.
I am a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University with a bachelor's in
Visual Arts Education. I finished my Masters Degree from Oklahoma State
University in May of 2008 majoring in Educational Leadership with a focus on
Administration. I am certified for a principalship in grades K to 8. I
taught high school for six years and middle school for four years before
joining the Choctaw Junior High School staff.
I am married with five adult children: Tara, Dean, Ryan, Bill and Sam; as
well as, four grandchildren; Letty, Alana, Brooke and Kaylie. Dean and I
reside in Choctaw, Oklahoma.
I believe that all young people can learn and be creative. Our goal within
the fine arts team is to meet or exceed Oklahoma P.A.S.S. objectives and
promote fine arts literacy. During the course of your of instruction, you
will study a vocabulary list published by the state of Oklahoma; get an
introduction to a variety of artists throughout history; explore a broad
range of media and studio projects (pencil drawing, chalk drawing, oil
pastels, watercolor, tempera painting, printmaking, textile arts and some
sculpture); as well as develop a process port folio.
