| Mr. Irons would like to welcome all students to Classen School of
Advanced Studies 2008-09 school year. This year promises to be another great
year of musical studies. I look forward to serving and working with our band
students and parents as we strive to accomplish the goals that we have
established for this school year. If there is anything I can do to assist
you, do not hesitate to ask.
Parents, don't forget, if your child will be auditioning for CODA or All-
State, I need the money by September 22nd. The cost is $15.00 for All-State
and $10.00 for CODA. The audition date is November 8, 2008 at Edmond Santa
Fe.
All-State Jazz band auditions will be held at Midwest City HS on November
15th. The cost is also $15.00 to audtion. If you need the name of a private
teacher (which is recommended) please let me know. The is a great
opportunity for your child to participate in a great organization.
Parents, if you have difficulty getting the band book, please let me
know. I will be happy to assist you.
The Classen Band department has started it's first fundraiser of the
year. We are selling Blue and Gold Sausage, Bacon, and Chicken. The cost of
the sausage is $6.00, bacon is $13.00 and the chicken strips is $16.00. The
cost is also located on your child's order form. Orders should be taken now
until October 13th when the forms should be turned in to Mr. Irons.
The meat will be delivered the Classen Band room on October 22nd. Money
for the meat is due by November 22, 2008. Checks should be made out to
Classen SAS Band.
There will be a special band parent meeting on Thursday, October 9th at
7:00pm in the Classen Band room. You may enter the building through the
southeast door. There will be signs directing you to the band room.
Parents, please check the band calendar weekly for any additions or
deletions. You can assess my email address through my web page for any
