About The Teacher
My name is Laura Crain and this will be my 12th year to teach school. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of Alabama and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 2005-2006, I attended Oklahoma City University where I certified in Montessori Education for children ages 3-6 years old. I am looking forward to a great year at Grove Valley Elementary. I married my husband Jeff in 1997. We just celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary! Jeff is an attorney and a Major in the United States Army Reserve. We have three living children two of which are students at Deer Creek Elementary, Andrew (11) and Sarah Catherine (9) and Jackson (2). Jackson's twin sister, Sophia, passed away on Feb.7, 2009 at the age of 4 months from a rare birth defect. We have been blessed with wonderful friends, a wonderful church family that has supported us during this very difficult walk in our lives. I love teaching and I love children. I know that this will be a great school year and I hope that every student in my classroom will have a wonderful first school experience.
