I have been teaching kindergarten in the public schools for fourteen
years. I taught in a private preschool for two years. My degree is in
Early Childhood Education which I received at East Central University. My
previous teaching experiences include Wynnewood, Oklahoma and Mangum,
Oklahoma. In 2001 I was selected to attend the Oustanding Teacher's
Academy and I achieved my National Board Certification in 2005. I am a
Great Expectations instructor and am thrilled to be teaching in a Great
Expectations Model School!
I am the mother of twin daughters, Darcey and Whitney. Whitney is
attending Oklahoma Christian University where she has been accepted into the
nursing program! Darcey is also attending Oklahoma Christian University.
She is preparing for law school! I attend the Edmond Church of Christ. I have
taught bible class to young children for over twenty years. For the past
twenty-one years, I have spent two weeks each summer in the mountains of New
Mexico teaching teenagers about Christian living. My hobbies include
spending time with friends, interior design, gardening, looking for antiques
and reading.
I am so excited to be a teacher at Deer Creek Elementary! Being part
of a GE Model School is an incredible experience! The students and faculty
at Deer Creek Elementary are outstanding! I am amazed to see parents so
involved in their child's education. It is a privledge to work with you!
My mission for the class is to empower my students with great expectations
by encouraging critical thinking, enhancing life principles, instilling self-
worth and creating life-long learners.
