Math

Welcome to Fifth Grade Math!  We are going to have a wonderful year.  On Tuesday, September 2nd, I will give each student their log-in information for the math book website.  It will be in their Monday Folders.  They will be able to access our textbook from their home computers.  I will go over all of the instructions during class when I give out the log-in information.  Please do not hesitate to ask me questions!

Our math book is a great resource for your child!  I encourage you to explore the site.  Here are some exciting opportunities the website offers:

Students can complete extra credit every evening that an assignment is given from the math book.  Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Go to our math book website (www.pearsonsuccessnet.com)
  2. Log in and go to the Student Edition Gr 5.
  3. On the left hand side of the screen, click on E-Tools.
  4. Click the red Test Prep link.
  5. Then, click on the chapter we are currently studying.
  6. Find the lesson that we covered that day in class and click on it.
  7. This is the 5-point Test Prep.
  8. Complete the 5-question Test Prep for that lesson we did in class. Print that off, staples it to the homework assignment, and 5 points will be added to that assignment.  It must be printed off to be counted for extra credit.
  • There are many fun games and activities that students can use to practice math skills.
  • Students can go directly to the page they need to use from the book.

I recommend that students take their books home the first couple of times they try to use the website just in case they have problems.

Remember, students can bring a signed study note from their parents on the day of a math test to receive five extra credit points on that test.  Wow!!  How easy is that?!  This is the only way students can receive extra credit on their test.
