Math:

     Concepts in math will be presented to the students through hands-on concrete activities. The skills the class will be addressing for the next several weeks will be:  arranging number from greatest to smallest and smallest to greatest; comparing numbers using greater than, less than, and equal to; identifying what word problems are asking, and determining what information is given; and counting money.

     Mad Minutes is also an important part of our math program at DCES. Students will be tested three times a week on their math facts of addition and substraction. Students will advance to the next level: upon completion of 30 addition and substraction facts, all answers correct in one minute, and achieving success on three tests. Awards will be presented to the students as they advance to the next level.
